Trivia

    Album

  • This film was followed by a sequel titled "Tiger Zinda Hai" (2017). Both films had Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif in lead roles. While this film was directed by Kabir Khan, the sequel had Ali Abbas Zafar at the helm. This was Salman Khan's first film for Yash Raj Films. It was reported that Yash Raj's favourite actor Shah Rukh Khan had been approached first but he had turned down the film.[1]
  • Two songs in the audio release of this film - "Mashallah" and "Saiyaara" - were recorded for promotional purposes after the film had been shot.
  • This was the debut Hindi film of the Punjabi film actor Gavie Chahal.
  • Writer Anand Panda filed a case of copyright infringement against the makers of this film. He alleged that in 2011 he had submitted a script titled "Ghost War" to Yash Raj Films but they had rejected it. Panda claimed that the film had used his script without giving him credit or compensation. He also said that some scenes in another Yash Raj Film, "Jab Tak Hai Jaan" (2012), had also been plagiarised from his script. Two months after Panda filed his complaint, the police lodged an FIR against the makers of this film. It is not clear how this matter proceeded. It is possible that it was settled out of court.[2][3]
