Trivia

    Album

  • This was a fictionalised account of the real-life events leading to India's successful Mars Orbiter Mission or Mangalyaan. The mission involved the launch of a space probe orbiting Mars. The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) launched Mangalyaan on November 5 2013 and it achieved Mars orbit on September 24 2014. With its success, India became the first country in the world to achieve Mars orbit on its first attempt.
  • This was Jagan Shakti's directorial debut. Before this, he had worked as an assistant to A.R. Murugadoss in "Holiday: A Soldier Is Never Off Duty" (2014) and to R. Balki in "Pad Man" (2017). Both films featured Akshay Kumar in the leading role, making this Shakti's third film with the actor. Balki was credited in the film as a writer and creative director.[1][2][3]
  • Jagan Shakti had conceived the film's story with actors Mohanlal and Sridevi in mind. The roles were eventually played by Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan. He had also planned to cast Malayalam film actress Manju Warrier but when that didn't work out, he cast Nithya Menen instead. This was her first Hindi film.[4]
  • Radha Bharadwaj, a US-based filmmaker, filed a case of copyright infringement against the makers of the film. She sought a stay on the film's production and release and also Rs. 90 lakhs as damages. Bharadwaj claimed that she had registered with the US Copyright Office her script for the film "Space MOMs" (2019) in 2016. According to her, she had shared the script with Atul Kasbekar's company Ellipsis Entertainment the same year in a bid to secure financing for "Space MOMs" (2019). She had later parted ways with Kasbekar's firm due to creative differences. Bharadwaj alleged that Ellipsis had then shared her script with another of their clients, Vidya Balan, and negotiated her deal for this film. She accused the makers of the film of rushing into production to jeopardise her film. The Bombay High Court dismissed the case after hearing her lawyer's arguments. The court ruled that Bharadwaj had failed to make her case and cleared this film for release.[5][6]
