Trivia

    Album

  • The story of this film was written by director Tanuja Chandra's mother, Kamna Chandra. She is also the mother of two other famous personalities - film critic Anupama Chopra and author Vikram Chandra. Kamna Chandra was the writer for many successful Hindi films like "Prem Rog" (1982), "Chandni" (1989), and "1942 - A Love Story" (1994).[1][2][3][4]
  • This was the debut Hindi film of the Malayalam film actress Parvathy Thiruvothu. It was writer Gazal Dhaliwal who introduced her to director Tanuja Chandra when she was looking for the film's female lead. Dhaliwal had worked with the actress for a shelved film by Vidhu Vinod Chopra.[5]
  • While Irrfan Khan played the lead role in the film, his wife Sutapa Sikdar was one of its producers.

    Song

  • Baire Karawen Mandir Masjid Mel Karawen Daana Pani - This song did not make the film's final cut. It was released separately as a single, along with a video, after the film's release.
  • Baire Karawen Mandir Masjid Mel Karawen Daana Pani - The mukhda of this song was inspired by the line "Bair badhaate mandir masjid / Mel karaati madhushala" from Harivansh Rai Bachchan's poem "Madhushala". Amitabh Bachchan posted a message on Twitter addressing lyricist Varun Grover and expressing regret that his father had not been credited for the inspiration.[6]
