Trivia

    Song

  • Man Mora Bawra - This song, sung by Mohammed Rafi, was filmed on another accomplished singer, Kishore Kumar.
  • Main Bangali Chhokra - The song had a line - "Mere baanke naach ki saiyan machi Roos mein dhoom" - filmed on actress Padmini. This was a reference to the actress's performance in the Indo-Russian film production "Pardesi" (1957).[1]
  • Main Bangali Chhokra - The song, filmed on Kishore Kumar and Padmini, made references to their real-life identities and featured words in Bengali and Tamil. Kishore Kumar, the "Bangali chhokra", had roots in West Bengal and Padmini, the "Madrasi chhokri", was a South Indian. The song featured the line "Pappi tujhe pukaarti Gangoli yaaram", a play on the actors' real-life names. Pappi was Padmini's nickname and Gangoli was the surname of Kishore Kumar aka Abhas Kumar Ganguly.
  • Chhed Diye Mere Dil Ke Taar - The film's music records credited Ustad Amir Khan as the singer of this song based on Raag Kamod. This appears incorrect based on the artist's voice and also because the song features two singers. According to the Hindi Film Geet Kosh, based on information received from music director O.P. Nayyar, the song was sung by the Pakistani classical singers Ustad Amanat Ali Khan and Ustad Fateh Ali Khan. However, musician Bhavdeep Jaipurwale attributes the song to his grandfather Pandit Laxman Prasad Jaipurwale and Ustad Niaz Ahmed Khan.[MR1]
  • Jogiya Mere Ghar Aaye (Title Song) - Although not credited explicitly on the music records, this appears to be a traditional Hindustani bandish based on Raag Lalit.
