Trivia

    Album

  • This was Manmohan Desai's first film with music directors Laxmikant - Pyarelal. It was the beginning of a partnership that would last nine years. "Coolie" (1983) was his last film with the composer duo. The music for his last two films as a director, "Mard" (1985) and "Gangaa Jamunaa Saraswathi" (1988), was composed by Anu Malik.[1][2][3]
  • This film marked the beginning of Kadar Khan's relationship with Manmohan Desai. Khan wrote some of the film's dialogues and was given an "Additional Dialogue" billing, while the film's main dialogue writer was Akhtar-Ul-Iman. However, his dialogues for the film were so powerful, and Manmohan Desai was so impressed by his writing, that after Khan had finished the narrating the dialogues, Desai gave him a Panasonic TV, a golden bracelet and Rs. 25000 in cash. Khan's billing in the film's opening credits was in significantly larger type compared to Akhtar-Ul-Iman's. He also gave his voice to the introduction in the film's opening as well as a few lines spoken during the opening credits. More importantly, Kadar Khan went on to write the dialogues for every film Manmohan Desai directed after this film, except two - "Chacha Bhatija" (1977) and "Mard" (1985).[4][5][6]
  • This film was adapted for the Telugu film "Neram Nadi Kadu Akalidi" (1976) starring N.T. Rama Rao.
  • The film was dedicated to its art director A.R. Kakkad.

    Song

  • Yeh Public Hai - Jeetendra appeared in a cameo as himself in this song.
