• This was a spiritual successor to the film "Student Of The Year" (2012).[1]
• This was the debut Hindi film of actress Tara Sutaria. Chunky Pandey's daughter Ananya Panday also debuted in the film.
• Hollywood star Will Smith made a cameo appearance in the film with a dance performance to the song "Radha" ("Student Of The Year", 2012). His performance for the song was part of a Facebook show called "Will Smith's Bucket List". The reality show had Smith performing an item on his bucket list for each episode. His appearance in the film was shot for an episode titled "Bollywood Dancing".[2][3][4]

• The Jawaani Song (Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani) - This was a recreated version of a popular song from the film "Jawani Diwani" (1972). The original song was composed by R.D. Burman, written by Anand Bakshi, and sung by Kishore Kumar. A few lines sung by Kishore Kumar in the original song were remixed into the recreated version.[5]
• The Hook Up Song - The song was used in the film's end credits. Alia Bhatt, who had made her Hindi film debut in its predecessor, made a cameo appearance for it.[6]
