Arijit Singh is a talented, young musician in the Hindi film industry. Born in Murshidabad, West Bengal, he trained in classical music for many years before getting his first break as a participant in the reality show, Fame Gurukul, in 2005. Although he didn't win the show, his performance was widely appreciated.
Arijit then sang "All For One" ("Aaja Nachle") for Shankar - Ehsaan - Loy’s Hindi version of "High School Musical 2" (2007). His big break came when he joined music director Pritam’s team as an assistant. Since then he has also sung many songs including "Yaariyaan (Reprise)" ("Cocktail", 2012), "Dua" ("Shanghai", 2012), "Raabta" ("Agent Vinod", 2012) and "Phir Le Aaya Dil" ("Barfi", 2012). The song that gave him mass appeal was "Tum Hi Ho" ("Aashiqui 2", 2013) which became a huge hit.
While Arijit Singh is mostly known for his work in Bollywood and Bengali films, he has also a major international collaboration under his belt. He wrote and sang the song "Khuda" for the jazz-fusion band, Spyro Gyra for their 2011 album, "A Foreign Affair".
