This was the second film in the "Kyaa Kool Hain Hum" adult comedy series. All the films in the series were produced by Shobha and Ekta Kapoor and featured Tusshar Kapoor in the lead role. The storylines of the films in the series were unrelated.[1][2]
Several Christian groups objected to a few scenes in the film which, according to them, depicted their religion in poor light. One of the groups filed a police complaint against the filmmakers under Section 295A IPC. The groups demanded the removal of the offending scenes and an apology from the filmmakers. The Congress party demanded that the film be banned in Goa. A few months after the release of this movie, another film, "Kamaal Dhamaal Malamaal" (2012), faced the anger of the same groups over content perceived to be offensive to the Christian community.[3][4][5]
The film spoofed a few popular Hindi films. It was reported that filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali was unhappy with the scene that spoofed his film "Devdas" (2002).[6][7]
