Rahat Indori, born on 1 January 1950 in Indore, is an Urdu poet who has also found fame as a lyricist in Bollywood. Born to Rafatullah Qureshi and Maqbool Un Nisa Begum as their fourth child, he married Seema in 1976. They have three children.
As a lyricist, though he has collaborated with music directors like A.R. Rahman and Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, it is with Anu Malik that he has had his lasting rapport.
Some of the popular songs penned by him include “Nind Churayee Meri” (“Ishq, 1997”), “Chori Chori Jab” (“Kareeb”, 1998), “Bumbro” (“Mission Kashmir”, 2000) and “Dekh Lo” (“Munnabhai MBBS”, 2003).
