Trivia

    Album

  • This was producer Sajid Nadiadwala's directorial debut.
  • The film was a remake of a hit Telugu film of the same title released in 2009. The Telugu film was directed by Surender Reddy and starred Ravi Teja and Ileana D'Cruz. The film was also remade in Tamil as "Thillalangadi" (2010).
  • To pay homage to Divya Bharti, Sajid Nadiadwala, who was married to her from 1992 till her death in 1993, paid the music label Saregama about 1.5 crore rupees to include the song "Saat Samundar Paar" ("Vishwatma", 1992) in this film. The song was used in a scene in a nightclub, with Salman Khan dancing to it. "Saat Samundar Paar" was one of the songs in Divya Bharti's short career for which she is best remembered.[1][2]
  • The film was conceived in 2009 and underwent many changes in its cast and crew before it went on the floor. The film was launched with director A.R. Murugadoss at the helm, Deepika Padukone as the female lead, and Abhijat Joshi as the writer.[3]
  • This was the first time writer Chetan Bhagat was involved in a film that was not an adaptation of a novel written by him.
  • This was the first Hindi film in which a voice artist was not used to dub Jacqueline Fernandez's lines. On Salman Khan's insistence, the actress of Sri Lankan origin took classes to work on her Hindi diction and dubbed her lines herself.[4]

    Song

  • Hangover - Filmmaker Sajid Nadiadwala's sons Subhan and Sufyan made a cameo appearance in the film for this song.
  • Tu Hi Tu - I - This song was originally sung by Arijit Singh but Salman Khan had his version removed and Mohammed Irfan was brought in to record a new version. The film's end credits, however, continued to wrongly credit Arijit for the song. The removal of Arijit's version was the result of a fallout between him and Salman that originated at the 2014 Star Guilds Award function. Salman was a host at the function and Arijit the recipient of an award for "Tum Hi Ho" ("Aashiqui 2", 2013). Despite apologising to Salman repeatedly, Arijit continued to be a pariah in the star's films.[5][6]
  • Yaar Naa Mile Te - Actress Nargis Fakhri made a cameo appearance in the film for this song.
