• The film was a spin-off of Rohit Shetty's "Singham" franchise. It featured Ajay Devgn as Singham in an extended cameo role. Its plot was adapted from the Telugu film "Temper" (2015). The Telugu film was also remade in Tamil as "Ayogya" (2019).[1][2]
• Sara Ali Khan signed this film when "Kedarnath" (2018) was stalled due to differences between director Abhishek Kapoor and its former producers. She had started work on the film by the time work on "Kedarnath" (2018) was resumed. In fact, there were reports that she would make her debut with this film. An upset Abhishek Kapoor sued Khan for damages of Rs. 5 crores and demanded that she finish her work for "Kedarnath" (2018) first. The matter was settled out of court with Saif Ali Khan acting as the mediator. It was decided that Sara would allocate her time to both the films and work on them simultaneously. Kapoor managed to wrap up "Kedarnath" (2018) first and it ended up becoming Sara Ali Khan's debut as originally planned.[3][4][5]
• Akshay Kumar made a cameo appearance in the film's closing scene. The scene was a setup for another spin-off of the "Singham" franchise, "Sooryavanshi" (2021).
• A company called Sona Beverages filed a petition with the Delhi High court alleging that the film's title infringed its trademark Simba. The court asked the makers of the film to respond to the company's notice and to consider reaching a settlement with them. The two parties eventually informed the court that they had reached a settlement that involved the inclusion of a disclaimer in the film. The disclaimer read "The 'Simba' trademark is owned by the Simba Brewery (Sona Beverages Pvt. Ltd.), India's most loved emerging craft beverage venture. We have licensed Rohit Shetty Pictures LLP to use the trademark for this movie."[6]

गीत

• आँख मारे - यह "तेरे मेरे सपने" (१९९६) फ़िल्म की एक गीत का रीक्रिएटेड वर्ज़न था. इस गीत में कुछ दिलचस्प कैमियो थे. गीत की शुरुआत में हिन्दी फ़िल्मों में रीक्रिएटेड गीतों के ट्रेंड का उल्लेख करते हुए करण जोहर की एक लाइन थी - "ओ गॉड! वन मोर रीमिक्स?!". जोहर ने हिन्दी फ़िल्म गीत "चंडीगड़ में" ("गुड न्यूज़", २०१९) में भी कुछ ऐसा ही कैमियो किया था जिसमें उनका डायलॉग था - "ओ माइ गॉड! दिस इज़ ओरिजिनल?". इस गीत में रोहित शेट्टी की "गोलमाल" सीरीज़ के अभिनेता तुषार कपूर, श्रेयस तलपड़े, और कुणाल केम्मु भी नज़र आए थे. उन्होंने इस गीत में जिस एलेक्ट्रॉनिक धुन पर नाचा था उसका वर्णन "तुषार कपूर की आवाज़ में" कह कर किया गया था. इस लाइन का इशारा "गोलमाल" सीरीज़ में तुषार कपूर के गूँगे पात्र की तरफ़ था. इस गीत में अरशद वारसी भी नज़र आए थे जिन पर ओरिजिनल गीत फ़िल्माया गाया था. ओरिजिनल गीत से कुमार शानू द्वारा गाए गए कुछ पंक्ति लिए गए थे और वारसी ने इन्हीं पंक्तियों को लिप-सिंक किया था.[7][8][9][10]
• तेरे बिन नहीं लगदा दिल मेरा ढोलना - The song's hook line was taken from a song originally composed and sung by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. Khan had also adapted the same hook line for a song in the film "Kachche Dhaage" (1999).[11][12]
